| Futbol!!! |
On Saturday night Michael and Jules had their annual Christmas party for the Dad's soccer league. Not surprisingly, Liana and Jules were our hosts for this festive occasion. To keep in the theme of football they decided it had to be a Footballers and Wags party. To be clear a Wag in England stands for Wives and Girlfriends. I had to look it up on-line to see what it meant! HA! Wags are known for fashion, shoes, handbags, big hair and even bigger sunglasses. In short, WAGS are football groupies.
Michael and I went looking the part wearing our sunglasses at night. And Michael kitted up with his best man jewelry. Without cleavage or fabulous legs in my arsenal I had to pull out a belly top that I've had for fifteen years and rely on my abs to see me through the night. It works.
When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised to see Liana wearing the shorts I gave her for her birthday. Let me say that these shorts are very short, black and sequined. They are adorable. When I saw them hanging in a favourite shop here in Buenos Aires I loved them immediately and knew they were meant for her legs. They would have looked awful on me. I knew it. I think that Liana is the only person I know that could pull them off. And boy she did. They looked fantastic on her complete with high heals and a baggy one shoulder top.
All night people kept saying to me, ". . . have you seen Liana's shorts? They are fantastic!" I just smiled, nodded and said, "They are fantastic. . . "
